I know that this is short notice but we at Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity cordially invite you to attend our “A Hero’s Call of Duty” military and public service tribute on Saturday August 1st 2009. This tribute will start at 3:00pm est and be streamed live to the web via our www.letkidsplaygames.com and www.360igame.com sites. This event is just one of many community based activities scheduled under the “Let Kids Play Games” campaign umbrella. As you already know Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity Inc (DBL) core mission is to provide technology access to depritech youth and their families. I’m amazed of how far we have come. 8 months ago many told us that it could that an organization built on core values and community first would not be successful. They also said that a model built on using video gaming and technology to bridge the gap between youth and positive community figures was impossible. However we stayed diligent and persevered. I must admit it was tough but our team stayed true to its mission of community first. Since our last correspondence DBL has completed construction of our DBL Frat House and established our DBL C.A.R.E team. Our DBL Frat House serves several purposes. It acts as the headquarters for the fraternity, an after school program for local youth, and set for all our live online broadcast. DBL C.A.R.E Team will be made of local police, military, and other community leaders. The purpose of the DBL C.A.R.E Team is to provide unique non-invasive mentorship opportunity between community leaders and depritech youth through video gaming & sports. C.A.R.E stands for community always reaching excellence.
Our “Let Kids Play Games “campaign along with other various grass root efforts provides us an opportunity to galvanize the community and gain the momentum necessary to fuel www.360igame.com which houses the Gzone. The Gzone is a social media portal that not only reflects the world according to gaming but the world according to the user as an individual. The Gzone is the community backbone of 360igame. The Gzone is slated to launch several web based shows. Gzone also offers social networking and clan management tools. At the end of the day it always goes back to actively engaging the user and helping an individual to realize that they really do matter. That’s why the Gzone will have monthly incentives for users to show them our appreciation. You can never place a value on the human factor. We are also putting finishing touches www.DBLGaming.com in an effort to support our various community initiatives.
This site will be subscription based and host our competition ladder system.
The past year and a half has presented its share of ups and downs. We have had our share of growing pains. However through it all we stood tall. There have been the expectations of sponsorship from major companies that have led to disappointments. There have been phone conferences scheduled and canceled without notice. I acknowledge that when we first started we came with ideas. There were no facts or statistics to prove our point. I understand the rejections because there were not any products to display. However I’m humbled and grateful by these experiences. These experiences are the reason why we are at this point today. It helped us to create a “foxhole” mentality. It helped us to refocus and realize that it should never be about us but rather the community we serve. We just wanted to write this letter to keep you abreast of our progress. We have also attached some statistics on our sites to show proof of our growth. We are open to any donations or sponsorship that you maybe willing to give. Feedback on this letter will be greatly appreciated. Visit the sites and get a true look of what we are about. Thank you for reading.
Sincerely ,
Eric Whiteside, President and Founder
